500th Post Prize!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

In addition to the Space Hulk card game, I included a custom painted Space Marine.  Since the winner’s favorite color is Blue, I felt that an Ultramarine Captain would be appropriate.  It was a fun model to paint with plenty of details.  Cloth is always enjoyable and this had a nice mix of hard and soft surfaces to work with.  It is now finished and will be shipped off to the winner shortly.

More Painted Trolls

I have been doing a little painting, but I have been mostly delinquent about posting pictures.  So here are some pictures of the trolls I’ve been working on.

First the Troll Impaler (need to finish the base on this guy and the Axer:

Then we have the Trollkin Thumper Crew.

Their bases still need some grass as an accent, but otherwise I’m happy with the way they turned out.

Until next time, happy gaming!

Weekend Gaming: Village

The only gaming had this weekend was a game of Village with Joe Sunday night.  Joe was heavily invested in the travelling, while Gina and I were sending people to Church.  I had also pushed a guy to the top of the council chamber and managed to convert at least a few coins to points.

Joe ended the game before I was prepared, and so I was stuck with a bunch of unused resources.  Gina had managed to snag a couple of six point market tiles, while provided the points she needed to take first.

Along with that, I also actually did some painting this weekend.  A bunch of my paints have dried up, but most are still good.  I had picked up a Trollbloods starter thanks to the Warmachine Kickstarter, so I was excited to paint them just for fun.  Here is the work in progress Impaler that I starter on.

WIP: Malifaux Guild Guard

As a change of pace, I decided to work on some of my Guild Guard models from Malifaux this weekend.  I’d been having difficulties coming up with a color scheme that I liked for the Guard, but I just grabbed the Guard Captain and went to town and things just kind of progressed from there.

I decided to do a red coat on him, and I really liked how it turned out, so I continued on with the same plan on the Guards.

These two are finished other than their bases.  The rest are in the final post-wash stages.

My only concern is that they have a bit of a Monty Python Spanish Inquisition look to them, but I think I can work with that.

Weekend Gaming: Lazy days

Didn’t get any games in over the weekend.  Instead, I spent part of Saturday working on the Imperial Guard Valkyrie I picked up recently.  A lot of it was done with my airbrush now that I’ve learned how to use it better.  Now I’m picking out details and weathering.

Until next time, happy gaming!

Lone Wolves

We received our camera back from repair yesterday, so I was finally able to get some pictures of the Space Wolves that I’ve been working on for the past few weeks.

First up are my two Lone Wolves.  Their bases haven’t been finished, but otherwise they are complete.

WIP: Warpath Marine as Imperial Guard

Here is one of the Warpath Marines painted in the winter armor colors that will be used with my Space Wolves army.  It was my first attempt ever at doing a white scheme, and I think it worked out rather well.  I might change the color of the gun to black, but that’s about the only significant change I can see.

And here’s a picture with him next to a Wolf Scout and Rune Priest.  I think his smaller size works well to contrast the more normal proportioned Guardsman to the hulking behemoths that are Space Marines.

WIP: Wolf Guard Terminators

I’ve been back in the painting mood again and started working on some of my Space Wolves.  These are the Cyclone Missile Launcher equipped Terminators that lead my squads of Wolf Guard.
